2013 project life: week 3
Good morning! As promised, I am back today to share week 3 of Project Life with you. I mentioned yesterday that these spreads have come together so quickly; that’s a bit strange for me because I’m usually a slow scrapbooker. I finished week 3 before it was officially over and felt a little sad last night when I didn’t have anything to work on- I definitely had a “now what?!” feeling. Maybe I’ll take some time this week to make a layout, it’s definitely been a while! Or maybe I’ll take the time to finish up the last few pages of my December daily… but now I’m getting off-topic…

Week 3 was another single page spread. As of Friday afternoon, I had taken 0 photos, which is why you see 3 of the 5 photos from one single event (Saturday dinner at The Melting Pot). I think it still works and makes the spread look cohesive.

I had filled in 7 pockets and was left with only 1 for a “weekly recap.” I had wanted to do something similar to week 2 where I just typed out a few key highlights on white cardstock and glued them to the woodgrain paper. I realized after the fact that I had more to say than the previous week and that a few single liners to review the week wasn’t going to be enough. I added the kraft polka dot envelope from January’s Studio Calico Project Life kit to hold a few additional journaling tags and 1 additional screen capture I wanted to include from the ESPN website. I kind of like that they are hidden away so not to distract from the rest of the spread.

And below, you’ll see what weeks 2 and 3 look like side-by-side.

This was a very yummy PL week
I’m doing 1 page 12x12s this year as well. I like your ideas on how to add more journaling or pics! The first 2 weeks I already felt I needed 1 more spot or 2 (but not enough to fill up another full page). And I like your week markers in the smaller pockets. I’m going to try that! Thanks for sharing lots of great ideas…
